Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
We are bang in the mix and if we were to win sat I'd actually really fancy us....I reckon we need to win 6 from 9 probably 4 at home and we'd have to beat the goon and man Utd

Would be great if us and the mickeys slipped in.....imagine Chelsea man Utd man city and the goon not getting into the top four sky and BT would fucking implode and they've spent about a billion between them on players would be absolutely great for the game

VERY

Win all our home games we finish top four.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Ranieri has it right concentrate to win the next game one at a time. He said their next aim is to qualify for the Europa League.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Dave M. I'm not certain but I think if a team qualifies for CL ( by winning Europa or CL) & finishes outside of top four then 4th place loses CL qualify place & gets Europa spot instead.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
I think that we are genuinely in competition for 3rd and 4th places with Arsenal, Man City, ManU, and Liverpool [ who have a game in hand ]. Leicester and Spurs have the first two places nailed on imho.

Our two home league games against Arsenal and ManU are to our advantage and we have to make sure that we take max points from our other remaining home games too.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
I should add I was talking to a work colleague about West Ham and manure CL prospects... I stopped half way through and had to double check we were talking about West Ham and the champions

He said yes we are that good we are defo in the mix and had a better chance than them...

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Sat for me is the result... If we win I will really believe we can do it otherwise top 6

I thought before the villa match if we won 10 we might be in we a shout

Well we have won 4 drawn 2 and lost 1

"My ONLY concern, is that we're West Ham, and historically we always seem to find a way to miss the boat, or fuck things up."

No. Not this season. For the first time in 58 years following WHU I see a whole team of real believers. Fear no-one, best ever squad and playing consistently well. In a word, MENTALITY. From top to bottom at the club.

East Auckland Hammer 11:21 Tue Mar 15
Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
I don't see why we can't make it. I don't think we have any reason to fear any of the sides we've got left to play, so no reason to expect us to drop points.

On a match-by-match outlook, we could win each of our remaining games.

We probably won't, based purely on the numbers, but as has already been mentioned, if we can get a bit of a break from the injuries......

My ONLY concern, is that we're West Ham, and historically we always seem to find a way to miss the boat, or fuck things up.

That pessimism that most West Ham fans feel, is slowly dissipating as the season progresses though.

Fuck it. Why the Fuck not.

Arsenal are shocking at the moment and we've got them and man u both to come to the Boleyn.

Just got to make sure we keep thr points ticking over

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
All conjecture.

Kompany and Otamendi both injured tonight so, barring quick recoveries, gives Man Utd the edge at weekend vs Man City.

If we lose at Chelsea, Manc Utd win, they go above us. Liverpool are now starting to play better. Southampton have a knack of good runs of results, but sometimes they don't. So who (WHO?) knows?

We have a possibility of Top 4, but I wouldn't bet on it. (Then again, I don't bet on anything, ever.)

Only philosophy should be - which BFS didn't get but Ranieri and Bilic do - WIN THE NEXT GAME!! And then see where it takes us.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
We have "on paper" some traditionally tough games left but this season we have seemed to respond better against the better teams.

Chelsea, Leicester, Stoke, West Brom - Away
Palace, Arsenal, United, Swansea, Watford - Home

Hmmm... I think it will still be a stretch to make top 4 and top 6 is more likely which is still excellent. That said, injuries will be key. If we can keep Payet, 2 regular CBs, Lanzini, Antonio, Sakho and Carroll fit most of the time then you never know.

Top 8 minimum, top 6 likely, top 4 a stretch IMHO. Hedging me bets? Who me? :-)

Win at Chelsea Saturday then it becomes a good prospect

Lose and a Bournemouth win they are only 8 points behind us...

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
I am just happy that we have the rest of the season to look forward too and have hope, rather than the usual mid-table or relegation this time of year. This has been the best season I have ever known including '86

Sven Roeder 10:29 Tue Mar 15
Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Its possible which is slightly ridiculous
Obviously a lot to do with the performances of Chelsea, Arsenal , Man City & Man Utd all of whom have been mediocre.
I reckon Wenger & Van Gaal will join Pellegrini and Mourinho with the sack as a result.

Dave M 10:25 Tue Mar 15
Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Does 4th even give us a Champions League qualifier?

Sorry I might;ve missed it elsewhere, but whats the scenarios which deny 4th place the Champs League?

If Man City finish below us and win it?

If Liverpool, ManU, or Spuds finish below us and win the Europa League?

etc

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
I'd still be happy with 6th. The progress this season has been great regardless.

If we sneak into 4th then happy days, but let's keep it on the quiet, it'll all go tits up otherwise we all know it.

Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
Top 4 is doable, it might just escape us, but it won't be through lack of effort or ambition. The great thing is that we could conceivably end this season being disappointed that we just missed out on The Champions League.

5th and Europa League is realistic but would feel like a consolation prize.

The great thing is that we are in the position of being able to discuss the possibilies on merit, and because we are aiming that high.

It's incredible how far we've come in just one season.

COYI.

Dave M 10:11 Tue Mar 15
Re: How realistic are our top 4 prospects?
A great run of late, but remember we do still fuck up and start slow, so I can still see us maybe losing a couple of games we think we should now win.

Maybe fall just short of top 4, but fuck it, i've been wrong all season. COYI!
